My kitesurfing journey began in the Netherlands in 2018. After three days of lessons, barely putting on the board and with lots of faceplants, it was clear: I need my own equipment - I'll be fine! At some point, I managed the first few meters.
After that, kiting took a back seat for a while - I was busy bouldering, cycling, surfing, snowboarding and studying mechanical engineering. It was only as a camp leader at climbing camps that I discovered how much fun I had teaching - outdoors, active, with people. This took me to Switzerland in winter as a ski instructor - and in the evenings as an assistant cook for the guests.
A few years later, I came to Silvaplana - initially as a beach marshal to ensure safety at the spot and to get back on the water properly. I trained with every wind and every kite size until I completed my kite instructor training in 2024.
I now teach with enthusiasm here at the lake and love passing on my passion for kitesurfing. I especially enjoy being out on the surfboard - working on my foil, twintip and unhooked skills (raleys with style are in the works 😄).
When I'm not on the water, I enjoy spending the evening with friends around the grill and campfire or exploring the mountains while hiking and bivouacking.
